ACT Corrective Services provides adult correctional services which promote the rehabilitation, reintegration and throughcare of offenders. It also provides safe, humane and secure management of offenders and prisoners.
ACT Corrective Services administers the following Acts:
Community based corrections focuses on offender management in its entirety, irrespective of the type of order or custodial status. Community based corrections orders are non-custodial orders served under the authority of adult corrective services and include restricted movement, fine options, community service, parole, bail and sentenced probation.

ACT Corrective Services provides support to the Sentence Administration Board. It administers ACT sentences by facilitating the transfer of prison sentences, parole orders and community based sentences, and maintains accurate sentence calculations for offenders serving custodial sentences and periodic detentions.
ACT Corrective Services also maintains the ACT Victims Register and liaises with victims as required under the legislation. The provision of information to crime victims is a feature of every correctional agency in Australia.
Custodial operations are administered under section 17 of the Corrections Management Act 2007 which establishes correctional centres in the ACT. The Superintendent directs and controls ACT adult custodial facilities. These facilities, while carrying out the mandate of the court, ensure the provision of safe care and secure accommodation for those in custody.
